Spirit of an Eagle
Now we are having an influx of newer members from different backgrounds
and generations.
Younger members are joining and as events are
planned and help is asked for, the talents of these members are
highlighting the energy and enthusiasm behind our next chapter of
volunteers. They are our sisters and brothers too and they have heard
the call of People Helping People.
One of these people is Jaclyn Wilt. She is artistic and creative. She
has done the work of face painting with a line of kids wanting her
steady hand on their face. She will step out of the box to help in the
kitchen during events when needed. She stepped up to work the carnival
games and contests during Child Advocacy even though she had come as a
spectator who saw a need. She did it with huge smiles and with great
fun. She sometimes would bite her lip uncertain if she could do
something but would do it anyway with gusto.
She does things with joy and caring. She brings
color and vibrance to our club and when able she always steps up. She
does not put a price on her presence, she frees herself to bring
silliness and light to every event. We need the warmth she emits and the
courage to do something new that she has. In these inspiring acts she
highlights her spirit of an Eagle.
Back when Dennis
Arsenault was with us, Dennis and I used to talk about new ideas about
different types of entertainment we could do at the club. In his memory
I would like to try one of those ideas by having an evening dinner with
a Murder Mystery. We are
looking to do a trial run to see interest and look to see if maybe this
could work as a fund raiser with audience participation. We have a
Murder-Mystery script, “Murder on a train”.
In the coldest month of 1933, somewhere near the Austrian border,
passengers aboard the Simpleton-Orient Express experience a murder that
will change their lives forever! But who killed mysterious stranger John
Doe?
At this stage we are
working to fill the 14 character slots. We are having a meeting Sunday
Afternoon November 12 at 2 pm at the club for anyone interested whether
it be to see what’s involved, participate, share ideas,or any other
input that can help us out. If interested but cannot make the meeting,
you can still get involved by contacting myself, Fred Allen at the club,
by email:
RumfordAerie1248@gmail.com
, or by cell 207-418-4463 or
contact Paula Chase at the club
Tid Bits
We did a food drive in October for local food pantries. In November we
will be supporting our Eagle Riders in collecting toys for the Dixfield
Discount Fuel toy drive. Please bring unwrapped toys and put in our
decorated box.
Child Advocacy Day is the first Saturday of May. We will start
fundraising for fun activities and costs starting at the end of February
with Eat around the World. Creative new ideas are welcome.
We have a
great club and want to keep it that way
Each one of us has
some skill that we can give back to the club.
When in the building, take a look around and make note of areas
that could use work and where you might be able to help us out. We are
always in need for folks to help in the kitchen and clean up after
events. We need people who are interested in being on our committees to
plan events. If you are
interested in getting involved and would like to help us out, join us on
meeting nights and we can talk about it.
